Solar Hot Water
Save up to $600 a year!
Water heating accounts for about a third of your total energy cost every year. But you can reduce this cost dramatically by installing a solar hot water system. The graph shows comparative costs for an average household - replacing an electric or bottled gas system with solar can save around $600 a year- every year.

Because 90% of Australia's electricity is produced by coal power, replacing an electric system with solar also saves around 3.5 tonnes in Greenhouse Gas emissions.
Government Rebates Abound
Both Federal and State governments encourage home owners to install solar hot water systems. All systems qualify for Renewable Energy Certificates. The price of RECs fluctuates but currently reduces the price of a Conergy solar hot water system by around $1,100.
If the combined household taxable income is less than $100,000, the Federal Government contributes a further $1,000 towards the cost. Then there are various State rebates, such as in NSW where a standard Conergy system earns a further $800 or in WA where if you gas boost you are eligible for a further $700.
