$1000 Rebate on Solar Hot water Reduces Price to Almost Zero
In certain states of Australia, qualifying people can pick up a top-of-the-range Conergy solar hot water system for a few hundred dollars thanks to a new Federal Government subsidy.
Households with a combined income of less than $100,000 a year who replace an electric hot water heater qualify for the rebate of $1,000. In NSW, for example, they also receive $800 from the State government and over $1,000 in Renewable Energy Certificates.
Rebates vary across the States. For example in WA you can install an instantaneous gas booster on your new solar system for just a few dollars thanks to a $700 rebate.

Remember, even without subsidies a solar hot water system will save over 3 tonnes of greenhouse gas a year and pay for itself through lower operating costs within five years.
